Couples

Purpose of the Couples Ministry:  To provide opportunities and resources for enrichment, ministry and fellowship, leading to spiritual growth, better marriages and stronger families.

Monthly Notes:  It's August; the kids will soon be back in school and the long, hot days of summer will be drawing to a close before we know it. Sounds like a good time to celebrate!  So join the couples for Date Night on Friday, August 13, 7:00 pm, at Cherokee Steakhouse (each couple will pay their own check). Sign up at the Hospitality Desk at the River if you will be joining us for this great evening of food, fun and fellowship!  And remember - you are Blessed and Highly Favored!

Couples Ministry Highlights:

Vow renewal at River

After completing the Fireproof Bible study, Pastor Smith led several couples in reaffirming their commitment to God and to each other in a vow renewal ceremony at The River.

The Couples enjoyed a festive outdoor gathering in October, which was dubbed the 'Fall-esta'!  The event took flight when a white dove, symbolizing the love and leadership of Jesus through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, was released into the evening sky.  A pair of doves was then released, symbolizing the relationship of marriage. As they flew to follow the first dove, Pastor Barry spoke to the group about how we should ask God to allow the Holy Spirit to lead the way for us.

Marriage enrichment at River

'Marriage on the Rock', written by Jimmy and Karen Evans, was a study completed during a Marriage Enrichment Weekend held at The River. Here we see three couples who volunteered to participate in one of the lighter moments of the weekend, called "If the Shoe Fits".
